Two-time Commonwealth Games gold medallist Matt Levy OAM, alongside Swimming Australia, has announced the inaugural recipients of the Matt Levy OAM Pathway Scholarship and Mentoring Program.

One of the Dolphins most respected athletes, Paralympian Levy – who retired after the Birmingham Commonwealth Games and last year’s Duel in the Pool – created a program to provide further opportunities for junior Para athletes.

His scholarship investment in Swimming Australia’s High Performance unit will assist pathway athletes to reach the highest level in swimming though a combination of financial support and unique mentoring insight.

These will include advice on juggling life and sport, implementing a healthy balance, understanding personal brand and individual value.

Congratulations to the five recipients of the Matt Levy 2023-2024 Scholarships:

  • Riley Moore (NSW)
  • Amelie Springett-Kelly (NSW)
  • Callum Simpson (QLD)
  • Chloe Osborn (NSW)
  • Jordan Berryman (WA)

The 2023 Matt Levy OAM Futures Camp is set to be held at the Australian Institute of Sport in September and aims to identify, recognise, support, and motivate junior Para swimmers demonstrating early potential for the Brisbane 2032 Paralympic Games and beyond.

Futures athletes are selected based upon demonstrated commitment to training and competition, positive performance progression towards nationals Para Flippers Squad selection, standards and display of performance behaviours aligned to the Swimming Australia Para Dolphin Team Values of Courage, Unity, and Excellence.
