World Champion Kookaburras and Hockeyroos keep Trans-Tasman rivals scoreless to secure 2017 Oceania Cup victories at Sydney Olympic Park Hockey Centre last night.

The Hockeyroos set the tone for the evening with a comfortable 2-0 victory, after successful scores from Jane Claxton and Kristina Bates early in the first half.

The triumph secures the Hockeyroos seventh Oceania Cup crown and puts them in a convenient position going into the Commonwealth Games in April next year.

In the men’s tournament the Kookaburras dominated New Zealand with a 6-0 win.

Tom Wickham and Aran Zalewski lead the scoresheet with doubles, while Dylan Wotherspoon and Jake Whetton added a goal each to the total.

The Oceania Cup win makes in 10 in a row for the Kookaburras.
