The historic, decades long partnership between Speedo and the Australian Commonwealth Games Team is set to continue at Glasgow 2026.
The famed swimwear brand will once again provide competition and training apparel, deck coats and iconic gold caps to the 60-plus strong Australian contingent.
Incredibly, Speedo have been a partner of Commonwealth Games Australia (CGA) since the 1958 British Empire Games, with today’s announcement bringing to 67-years our continuous relationship.
From the golden era of the late 1950s to the record-breaking performances of recent Games, Speedo is renowned for innovation and performance and is synonymous with Australia’s success in the pool and beyond.
The partnership ensures that athletes will have access to world-class suits designed for the best possible performance on the international stage.
Commonwealth Games Australia (CGA) CEO Craig Phillips AM welcomed the continued partnership.
“Speedo is a name deeply embedded in the story of Australian sport, particularly in the pool, where so many of our Commonwealth Games heroes have worn the iconic suit,” Phillips said.
“We’re thrilled to once again partner with Speedo for Glasgow 2026 and ensure our athletes have the best possible support as they chase gold for Australia.”
Chef de Mission for the 2026 Australian Team, Petria Thomas OAM OLY, also welcomed the renewed partnership.
“As both a swimmer and now as Chef de Mission, I know firsthand the confidence that comes from wearing performance swimwear you can rely on,” Thomas said.
“Speedo has stood the test of time in supporting Australian swimmers and para-swimmers on the international stage, and it’s fantastic to know our Team in Glasgow will be backed by their expertise once more.”
At the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, Australia’s swimmers powered to 17 individual medals, and 7 relay gold medals in Speedo Fastskin race suits.
Simon Rowe, Global Sports Marketing Manager Pentland Brands Limited, said the team is proud to continue their legacy alongside the Australian Team.
“Our relationship with Commonwealth Games Australia is something we hold in the highest regard,” Rowe said.
“Speedo has a proud heritage of supporting Australian athletes on their journey to greatness, and we’re committed to providing innovative swimwear that helps our best feel race-ready every time they hit the water.”
Harrison Turner, Speedo Ambassador newly crowned world bronze medallist and now Australian record holder with a bright future said, “it was a honour to represent Australia in the 200m butterfly final at the World Swimming Championships in Singapore.”
“To walk away with a medal was something else. Feeling comfortable makes me confident, that’s why I choose to race in Speedo and I am so happy that the longstanding CGA and Speedo Partnership is continuing for Glasgow.”
Lakeisha Patterson OAM, two-time Commonwealth Games gold medallist and fellow Speedo Ambassador, echoed Turner’s sentiments.
“As an Aussie swimmer, there’s nothing more special than seeing Speedo – an iconic Australian brand – as the official swimwear provider for the 2026 Commonwealth Games. I hope to proudly wear the green and gold in Speedo and make Australia proud!” Patterson said.
The Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games will take place from 23 July to 2 August 2026.
