The four-strong contingent set to serve up aces in beach volleyball at the Trinbago 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games is ready to go – here’s what you need to know.

The Australian Quartet.

The men’s team of Mitchell Croft and Jett Rocker-Graham are in Group B and will take on South Africa and St. Kitts & Nevis in the first couple of days of the tournament as they aim to qualify for finals.

The women’s duo of Jasmine Rayner and Cameron Zajer are also in Group B and will take on England and Rwanda as they try to qualify for finals and win their second consecutive gold medal.

Following the round matches, the competition will progress to play-offs to determine rankings, seeing teams then progress through the quarterfinals, semi-finals and finally medal matches on the final day of competition.

How did Australia perform in beach volleyball at the last Commonwealth Youth Games?

In the last Commonwealth Youth Games in the Bahamas in 2017, Australia earned a spot on the podium in both the male and female events.

The Australian girls, Rebecca May Ingram and Carrie Van Rensburg, won gold in the final against New Zealand, while the Australian boys, Mark William Nicolaidis and James Blake Takken won a bronze medal.
