Georgia Sheehan (diving) made her Commonwealth Games debut in Glasgow in 2014, finishing fourth in the women’s 1m springboard. At the Gold Coast 2018 Games, competing in front of friends and family, Sheehan paired with Esther Qin to win gold in the women’s synchronised 3m springboard and silver in the women’s 1m springboard. At her third Games in Birmingham, she finished 5th in 1m springboard, despite registering a higher score than her silver-medal performance on the Gold Coast four years earlier and was 7th in the 3m springboard. Sheehan began her diving career after seeing Australian diving legend Matthew Mitcham competing at the Beijing 2008 Olympics and lists cycling legend Anna Meares as one of her heroes.
