Gold Coast 2018 Medals Unveiled

A striking set of gold, silver and bronze medals for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games (GC2018) were unveiled at the GC2018 Charity Gala function on Saturday night.

The medal design was carefully created by Delvene Cockatoo-Collins a local Nunukul, Ngugi and Goenpul woman of Quandamooka Country. For many generations, the Gold Coast coastline has been a place for gathering, meeting and sport. The medal design represents the soft sand lines which shift with every tide and wave, also symbolic of athletic achievement. A stunning representation of Queensland and Australia as a whole.

Judging by past and present Commonwealth Games athletes’ reactions, they too were impressed…

Dare to Dream greatly. The unveiling of the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games medals. The dream becomes more REAL everyday. In the count down to the @gc2018 wrestling qualifier in Melbourne I’m focusing on making each day count. And when I think about what it means to ‘WIN’. For me it means focusing on ‘What’s Important Now’. Not the odds or fear of failing. Winning now means, staying laser liked focus on the process, and being purposeful with each moment with intent, passion and being fearless in the pursuit of what sets my heart on fire. And that is pushing my own boundaries, growth, creating my own path and having the courage to follow my dreams… #gc2018 #commgames #win #women #sport #legacy #growth #process #dreamgreatly #SHARETHEDREAM #warriorheart #womeninsport #greatnessrarelyseen
