Australian Chef de Mission Steve Moneghetti chats to David Culbert directly from the growing Commonwealth Games Athlete Village (CGV) on the Gold Coast.
With just five days until competition, athletes are arriving into CGV everyday and Moneghetti says the vibe is picking up and ‘the talk is, this could be the best athletes village ever’.
Determined not to let outside pressures of restoring faith in Australian sport impact Team Aus, Moneghetti will take some time to talk openly and honestly with all 473 athletes before the Opening Ceremony.
Moneghetti’s passion for the Commonwealth Games remains unwavering, from athlete to official, he has the ability to relate to and inspire both ends of the spectrum – contributing nicely to the team theme ‘Greater Together’.
