Cheryl Lindfield

Cheryl Lindfield (lawn bowls) made her Commonwealth Games debut in Birmingham where she teamed up with fellow debutant Serena Bonnell to win silver in the B6-B8 women’s pairs. At 63, she was the oldest competing member of the 429-strong Australian team in Birmingham. Lindfield, who supports her weight with a frame while playing, has a muscular skeletal disability that causes dislocations and impacts balance. Less than a year after being classified, Cheryl dominated the women’s singles at the 2021 Queensland Multi-Disability Championships, earning a spot at the Commonwealth Games selection trials at the Tamborine Mountain Bowls Club in south-east Queensland. She was then picked to make her international début for Australia as part of the squad that toured the UK in May 2022.
