Kaitlin Nobbs

Kaitlin Nobbs (hockey) was co-captain alongside Jane Claxton at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games in 2022 where she made her 100th international appearance for the Hockeyroos.

Kaitlin is the daughter of hockey royalty – her mother Lee Capes (and aunt Michelle Capes) won gold at Seoul 1988 Olympics while her father Michael Nobbs played at Los Angeles 1984 Olympics. She is also a cousin of teammate Shanea Tonkin.

Born in Perth, Kaitlin’s family moved to NSW when she was 14 and she started playing for the NSW Arrows in the Australian Hockey League three years later. In 2016, she received a scholarship to train alongside the Hockeyroos prior to the Rio Olympics and was then selected for Australia’s Junior World Cup which claimed bronze in Chile. Although not a full member of the senior squad, Nobbs made her senior debut against Japan that year. The defender made her Olympic debut at Tokyo 2020 and has played over 100 internationals for the Hockeyroos.

Kaitlin has a degree in science and nursing from Curtin University in Perth.
