Lauren Mansfield
Lauren Mansfield (3×3 basketball) was part of Australia’s first Commonwealth Games women’s 3×3 basketball team in Birmingham that came from behind against New Zealand to bring home the bronze medal. Growing up in a basketball family, Lauren began her collegiate career at Midland College in Texas, before becoming the starting point guard at Iowa State University. After signing with the Adelaide Lightning WNBL franchise in 2012, Mansfield had a breakout 2015-2016 season with the South East Queensland Stars. Averaging 15.5 points per game, she finished the season as one of the league’s top 10 scorers, and second in assists (5.4 per game). Mansfield topped off her year with a call-up into the Australian Opals squad ahead of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. Taking home a silver medal from the India 2017 FIBA Asian Cup, Mansfield withdrew from the Opals side ahead of the Spain 2018 FIBA World Cup due to injury. Turning to 3×3 basketball, the ambidextrous Mansfield won gold at the Singapore 2022 FIBA 3×3 Asia Cup alongside Commonwealth Games teammates Lauren Scherf and Marena Whittle.
