Lynsey Clarke

Lynsey Clarke (lawn bowls) was part of the team that finished 5th in the women’s triples and 9th in the women’s fours at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games. It was the fourth Games appearance for the mother of two after she claimed gold in the pairs with Karen Murphy in 2006 and lost the bronze-medal play-off with Natasha Van Eldik in 2010, while the 2014 Games brought silver as part of the women’s triples. She missed Gold Coast Games in 2018 as she had just given birth to her son Harvey. Other career highlights among her 400-plus international appearances are gold in the fours and bronze in the pairs at the 2008 World Bowls Championships. She also claimed gold in both the pairs and fours at the 2021 Australian Open, lifting her national titles tally into double figures. Born in West Yorkshire in England, Lynsey began playing the sport with her parents in 1995 and her husband Brad and mother Teresa both still bowl. She made her debut for Australia in 2003 aged just 19 after winning the Australian junior singles title in 2000. Lynsey plays out of the Tweed Heads Bowls Club and is a Queensland Pathways coach.
