Natasha Van Eldik
Natasha Van Eldik (lawn bowls) missed the podium at her first two Commonwealth Games in 2010 and 2014, but her third appearance on the Gold Coast in 2018 reaped double gold in the triples and fours. Van Eldik started playing lawn bowls in 2005 and was a member of the Australian Trans-Tasman junior teams in 2008 and 2009. In 2009, she also snared gold in the fours at the NSW Open and the triples at the Queensland Open, culminating in her Commonwealth Games debut for Australia at Delhi 2010 where she teamed up with Lynsey Clarke to finish fourth in the pairs. World Bowls Championships team and triples gold followed in 2012 and team, triples and fours in 2016.
Van Eldik was named Bowls Australia Female Bowler of the Year in 2014/15 and 2015/16, and 2016 Australian Open Player of the Tournament. She has since claimed gold in either singles, pairs or triples at the 2019, 2020 and 2021 Australian Open. At her fourth Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, Natasha was part of the team that finished 5th in the women’s triples and 9th in the women’s fours.
