Poppy competes in swimming and currently represents Nudgee College Swimming Club, having started when she was 4 years old. Her recent achievements include representing her Surf Life Saving Club (BMD Northcliffe) and winning gold in the Pool Rescue 200m Obstacle Race. At the Trinbago 2023 Commonwealth Games, Poppy competed in four individual events, making the final in each of them. Her best result came in the women’s 200m butterfly, where she finished second, just 0.68 seconds behind gold-medallist and fellow Australian Mikayla Bird. Her aspirations include traveling with an Australian senior team and swimming at both the Commonwealth and Olympic Games.
