Tahlia McGrath
Tahlia McGrath (cricket) announced herself as the heir apparent to Ellyse Perry with some thunderous innings and key wickets over the 2021/22 Australian summer. Her player of the match performance of 91 (not out) from 49 balls in the T20 international against England in front of a home crowd in Adelaide spearheaded the highest successful run chase by an Australian team. McGrath made her one-day international debut against South Africa in November 2016 but missed selection for the 2017 Women’s World Cup. She took her first international wicket against England in October 2017 and made her Test debut in the following month. In April 2019, she was awarded a contract with the National Performance Squad ahead of the 2019-20 season and a full-time contract ahead of the 2020-21 season. She is now an essential part of Australia’s line-up and played in all nine matches of Australia’s one-day international World Cup winning tournament in New Zealand in March 2022. McGrath plays for the Adelaide Strikers in the Women’s Big Bash League.
