Tahlia McGrath
Tahlia McGrath (T20 cricket) shared the wicket-taking spoils with Megan Schutt at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, each taking 8 wickets in the tournament and helping steer Australia to the gold medal. Tahlia’s 78 (not out) against Pakistan in the opening match was also one of the highlights.
Earlier in the year, the talented all-rounder announced herself as heir apparent to Ellyse Perry with some thunderous innings and key wickets over the 2021/22 summer. Her player-of-the-match performance of 91 (not out) from 49 balls in the T20 international against England in front of a home crowd in Adelaide spearheaded the highest successful run chase by an Australian team and she was also part of Australia’s winning line-up at the World Cup in New Zealand.
McGrath made her one-day international debut against South Africa in November 2016 but missed selection for the 2017 Women’s World Cup. She took her first international wicket against England in October 2017 and made her Test debut in the following month.
McGrath plays for the Adelaide Strikers in the Women’s Big Bash League in her hometown.
