The accolades for Commonwealth Games team members have continued, with the recipients of the 2022 CBR Sport Awards announced last Friday.
Kelsey-Lee Barber (athletics), Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games gold medallist in javelin, was recognised as Athlete of the Year – Women’s Sport, while bronze medallist Samuel Harding (triathlon) was awarded Athlete of the Year – Para Sport.
The awards, held for the first time in two years, celebrated Canberra’s sporting community, coming together to acknowledge the outstanding achievements of the territory’s top athletes, teams, and special contributors.

- Minister for Sport and Recreation Award for Innovation – Manuka Tennis Club Sustainability Initiative
- Minister for Sport and Recreation Award for Inclusion – Canberra Raiders ‘Score Raiders’
- Minister for Sport and Recreation Award for Event Excellence – Stromlo Running Festival
