
Several decorated Commonwealth Games athletes alongside rising stars have been selected to represent Australia at the 2025 World Para Athletics Championships in Delhi, India.
Rhiannon Clarke headlines the group with a strong record of success on the international stage. She won silver in the women’s T38 100m at the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games as a 15-year-old and followed it up with a bronze in the same event at Birmingham 2022.
Cam Crombie joins her after claiming gold in the men’s F38 shot put at the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games, where he delivered a dominant performance to take the top spot on the podium.
Jaydon Page continues his upward trajectory after winning silver in the men’s T47 100m at Birmingham 2022, showcasing his sprinting talent as one of Australia’s fastest rising stars in para-athletics.
Sam Carter also impressed at Birmingham, securing a bronze medal in the highly competitive men’s T54 1500m final, while Rosemary Little competed in the T33/34 100m at the same Games. Rounding out the group of Commonwealth Games alumni is Sam Rizzo, who made his debut at the Gold Coast 2018 Games, contesting both the T54 1500m and marathon.
The team also features Kurt Fearnley Scholarship recipients Luke Bailey and Layla Sharp. Bailey was named a recipient in 2019, while Sharp was selected as part of the 2025 intake, recognising their potential as future leaders.
Three athletes who competed at the Trinbago 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games have also earned senior team selection. Jackson Love, who was named Emerging Athlete of the Month in August 2023 following his standout performances in Trinbago, is joined by teammates Niamh Mac Alasdair and Akeesha Snowden in the squad for Delhi.
The 51-strong contigent, the second-biggest team to be sent to the competition, will compete at the 2025 World Para Athletics Championships from 26 September to 5 October in Dehli, India.
