About Powerlifting

An open weight Para-Sport Bench Press event was included in the program in Manchester 2002. Glasgow 2014 again saw the inclusion of Para-Sport Powerlifting with four events including Heavyweight and Lightweight categories for men and women.

The governing body for Para-Powerlifting in Australia is Paralympics Australia.
