A Commonwealth Youth Games cycling trio are getting set to pull on the green and gold again at the 2017 UCI Road World Championships in Norway.

Madeleine Fasnacht, Sebastian Berwick and Mitchell Wright have been selected for the Cycling Australia junior team for the event which begins on September 17.

All three cyclists will compete in both the road race and time trial.

Fasnacht and Berwick will be looking to add to their medal haul after both finished on the podium at the Youth Games in the Bahamas last month.

The talented Fasnacht took home gold in the time trial and bronze in the road race, while Berwick secured a third-place finish in the time-trial.

Berwick will be making his Cycling Australia national team debut at the event. The Queenslander is the reigning junior Oceania road race and time trial champion.

September’s event will be Fasnacht’s second appearance at the UCI Road World Championships, after she finished ninth in the women’s junior time trial last year. The former triathlete holds the junior road race and time trial national titles.

New South Welshman Wright finished just eight seconds behind Berwick in the time trial at the Bahamas, and had top twelve finishes in both cycling events.

Road World Championship selection for the elite men’s, women’s and under 23 teams will be announced in late August.
