Fun facts about TeamAUS

In just four days’ time, the GC2018 Opening Ceremony will mark the beginning of the biggest event Australia has seen this decade! Here are some more interesting facts about TeamAUS and GC2018:

  • 275 TeamAUS athletes will be making their Commonwealth Games debuts on the Gold Coast
  • 38 of the 61 TeamAus para-athletes have represented Australia at a Paralympic Games
  • There are 237 male and 236 female athletes on the GC2018 Australian team
  • 119 Queenslanders will be competing in their home state on home soil at the Games
  • Beach Volleyball is being included for the first time at the GC2018 and TeamAUS will have four athletes competing (Taliqua Clancy and Mariafe Artacho del Solar, and Chris McHugh and Damien Schumann)
