Marlene Elliott and David Mandel have been returned to the Commonwealth Games Australia (CGA) Board following proceedings at the Annual General Meeting (AGM), each commencing a new four-year term.

First elected in 2018, both Elliott and Mandel have completed two consecutive terms on the Board and bring extensive experience across the corporate and not-for-profit sectors.

Elliott brings more than 30 years of senior executive and leadership experience within the financial and professional services industries, complemented by a longstanding involvement in sport. She has represented South Australia in netball and held board positions across several sporting organisations.

Elliott currently serves as Chair of the CGA Heritage and Awards Committee, is a member of the Brand and Marketing Committee, and is a Director of the Australian Commonwealth Games Foundation Ltd.

Mandel is a highly experienced company director with a strong background in finance, governance and risk management across listed, private and not-for-profit entities. He currently serves as Chair of the CGA Finance, Risk and Audit Committee, is a member of the Foundation’s Investment Committee, and also holds a directorship with the Australian Commonwealth Games Foundation Ltd.

“On behalf of the Board of Directors, I am pleased to welcome both Marlene and David back to the Board following their re-election,” CGA President Ben Houston said.

“Their continued service brings valuable experience, strong governance capability and a deep commitment to the Commonwealth Sport Movement in Australia.”

The AGM also saw Kate Corkery’s casual vacancy as Director confirmed, with Corkery to hold the position for a two-year-term to the 2027 AGM.
