Nathan Tang

Nathan Tang (badminton) made his Commonwealth Games debut in Birmingham where he was eliminated in the round of 32 in the men’s singles and reached the quarter finals men’s doubles with fellow Victorian Jacob Schueler. A family friend introduced Nathan to badminton as a relaxing Sunday activity. Since then, he has claimed a number of titles, most recently taking bronze in the men’s singles at the 2022 Australian Championships, followed up by a significant win over teammate Ying Xiang Lin in the semi-finals at the 2022 Oceania titles, before losing the final to New Zealand’s Edward Lau. Tang plays out of a variety of clubs, including the Doncaster Templestowe Badminton Association and the Glen Waverley Badminton Centre and receives coaching assistance from Ricky Yu, Rosie Tang, Jeff Tho, Vivian Chong and Ming Chuen Lim.
