CGA visits Birmingham

Commonwealth Games Australia CEO Craig Phillips and General Manager of Team Performance Tim Mahon visit Birmingham the city 177km northwest of London, as they prepare to host the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

The old Hare of the Dog pub on the Games Village site. It is planned that the building be incorporated into the Village. Let’s see if it’s still there in 4 years.
Birmingham’s City House overlooking Victoria Square. The Square is one of the possible city centre sites for the 3x3 Basketball.
Inspecting Birmingham’s Alexander Stadium. This venue will be upgraded to host the Opening and Closing Ceremonies and the Athletics.
The Victoria Park Bowling Greens at Royal Leamington Spa. Why is Royal Leamington Spa “royal”? The Statue of Queen Victoria outside the Town Hall. Queen Victoria bestowed royal status on the town in 1838.
Construction in central Birmingham. A city going through a massive transformation.
Birmingham’s canals and their bars and restaurants will be a focus of activity during the Games.
Genting Arena will host the Badminton competition
