Performance under pressure is how Lisa Curry became an Australian swimming icon, a celebrity.
So much so, Curry was cast in the Channel 10 reality television show I’m a celebrity… get me out of here spending the past month in the South African jungle.
But swapping the swimming cap for a helmet of spiders was no easy feat for the seven-time Commonwealth Games gold medallist.
A challenge so confronting Curry filled her goggles with tears, as several enormous tarantulas scaled her face.
The mother of three is a popular camp mate in the jungle, having formed a close bond with actress/singer Natalie Bassingthwaighte and beauty queen Tegan Martin.
Curry is one of 11 celebrities remaining, she will donate any earnings to Australian farming charity Aussie Helpers.
