Following an extensive recruitment process, Commonwealth Games Australia (CGA) is thrilled to announce that Cody Lynch has been appointed as General Manager – Marketing, Communications and Community. 

Lynch comes to CGA from Victoria’s Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions, having most recently served as the communications and marketing lead for the acquisition of the Victoria 2026 Commonwealth Games and the Manager, Communications and Media at the Office for the Commonwealth Games. 

He has previously been employed at Visit Victoria, Athletics Australia and the Western Bulldogs and has worked as a media liaison multiple international championships including the Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. 

“A home Games in 2026 provides a critical opportunity for Commonwealth Games Australia to showcase our talented athletes, member sports and extensive work within the community. I feel privileged to have the chance to be involved,” Lynch said. 

“Birmingham 2022 confirmed Australia’s enthusiasm for the Commonwealth Games, and I will work hard to ensure this continues alongside colleagues at the CGA, alumni and the Australian sporting community.”

Lynch will officially commence in the full-time position on 16 January 2023.
